The Milestone Bar and Restaurant

We went to the Milestone on the Saturday between Christmas and New Year. We didn't quite know what to expect as the surroundings are not what you would necessarily look for when trying places to dine out. On entering the "bar" we were greeted by a friendly chap who asked if we had a table booked and whether we would like to be seated or get a drink at the bar. Great so far. The place is modern but with a very warm feel to it and we instantly felt comfortable. We were taken to our table upstairs where, again, it is modern and the decor sparce, but still comfortable. It was a little cold for my taste as the large sash windows do not have drapes/curtains but this is a minor detail. The service was very amenable and the food was delicious. It was a set Christmas menu but our party of four had no problem choosing our courses. We were all very impressed by the place, the food and the friendly staff. We will definitely be going back.
