Horrible! Stale poppadums, nasty pakora type things for the startes and the main course was mystery bits of chicken(?)in a gastly, thick, salty, gloopy, dark brown gravey. All three of the dishes that we had were supposed to be different but the only change made was a small splat of something that the meat had been dipped in. Without a doubt the very worst meal I have eaten, and that includes gearsy spoons and the muck that I've made myself.

Then I went to pay and I was charged twice what I'd expected. I don't know why I didn't complain before I'd paid but I was too stunned at the price to speak.

The only thing that wasn't foul was the bottled beer.

I've eaten at an awful lot of Indian restaurants and I must say this is by far the worst restaurant I've ever been to.

The Food:

Rice was stodgey, I had to break it up... Every piece of Chicken had gristle in it which was VERY irritating! We were given a hostile response when we said we didn't want any poppadoms or desert. The garlic bread was rubbish too! We asked what size they were to get an idea whether we should share one or have one each she said "They're medium OK?"

Drinks are served in pint glasses... how tacky! I asked for water, I was given tap water - which I was charged for!

The Decor:

Where do I start...? Simply awful, very 80s and get some new crockery for goodness sake!

This restaurant can't survive on repeat business from sober people, they must rely on the Friday/Saturday night drunken crowds because they will have no idea what rubbish they're eating.

One final thing....

They add the tip on to the bill for you (10%) which I think is extremely rude! We normally tip very well regardless of what we think of the food - they didn't get an extra penny out of us.

Will never ever visit again!!

I'll never go back to this place again!!!

If you do, make sure you know exactly what you are ordering and how much it is on the menu.

10% on top of everything

Everything were ridiculously overpriced, food quality was below average, plates were dirty and service was poor, except when they recommend what you should order to maximise the bill and when you pay.

I felt really disappointed with the food at Nirmals last night. The food was terrible but just because they've had good newspaper reviews in the past they think they are the best! We had to send one dish back and the others were not that brilliant. They need to smarten up a bit! And buy some new plates!!!

This is the best indian restaurant i've ever been to. Absolutely delicious food and very good service. The mangoes for dessert are quite special too. I highly recommend this restaurant!

Went on Friday night with some friends. What a rip off!! Charged us £6 for popadums £10 service charge! We've agreed never to go again, the meat was fatty and the rice was stoggy. Also the floor was absolutely fithly! Covered in rice.

Horrible place.
